Where have we been?
 She's not telling...
Maybe doing a craft with sidewalk paint...

Or just being sweet... (most of the time)
I wasn't able to get to the blog last Friday, but here are our "Friday favorites" from last week:
I found a recipe for sidewalk paint, and Delaney loved it! It was super easy and she played for about 15 minutes!
Sam Nolan relaxed and had a bottle while his sister was playing...
After we got messy, she took off her bow, got in a swimsuit and ran through the sprinklers.
Sam Nolan relaxed some more...
Another favorite thing is seeing the icecream man for the first time this season! We heard the music, rushed outside and Nannie pulled up just in time to take Delaney to get a Tweety bird popsicle.
My favorite thing was being able to see our little man turn two months old!
He turned two months old March 17th, and he weighs 13 pounds 13 ounces.
Smiling boy...
We haven't been to the doctor for his two month visit yet, but we did go to the doctor. I had noticed a place on his lip that he has had since he was born. It started out small, and I assumed it was a birthmark. As he grew, it began to grow and change color. No one even notices it, but since I give him bottles and see him all the time, I know every inch of him. :) I read a quote the other day that pretty much described how I acted about the little spot on his lip: "A worried mother does better research than the FBI." The doctor (who is not our regular pediatrician) examined it, and told me it was hemangioma. He then told me it was a tumor and blah blah blah. He said benign, but that didn't register at that moment. All I could focus on was the word tumor as he left the room to get pictures to show me. When he returned I had a small breakdown, he assured me it was fine, and I tried to compose myself. I'm not sure if showing me the pictures of what hemangiomas look like in all states of severity and locations on the body was the best way of going about reassuring me, but by the time he was finished I felt like Sam Nolan's "blood vessel buildup" was minimal to say the least. The doctor told me there is no way to know how big it will get and when it will go away, but that we can laser it off or treat with steroids when we think it's time. He also examined the birthmark on the back of Sam Nolan's head and told me it would never go away. I think it's just an "angel kiss."
Sam Nolan will never be embarassed about his birthmarks, but he may be a bit upset when he gets older and sees the picture of his favorite place this week...his sister's swing. He sleeps in it, plays in it, laughs in it. He loves it!

"Favorite Things" Friday

Since I have a love of alliteration, Fridays, and Oprah's favorite thing episodes, I have decided the Roberts will start having "Favorite Thing" Fridays to record what we are in love with at the moment.
This week, we have a lot of favorite things. I will try not to have so many favorite things to share next week, but we are trying new things all the time these days and loving much of it.
Our first favorite things of the week are the new Easter eggs we purchased at Cottontails this year. For some reason, everytime I get something seasonal with the babies' names on it, it makes me feel so grown-up and amazingly content with where we are in life.
Delaney chose the spot in the yard to put her egg.
One of Sam Nolan's new favorite things is to be put in Eric's hand and flown around. This was very early in the morning, so he still had his pajamas on.

This isn't really a new favorite thing, but we still love playing at the park.

We have an obsession passion for books, so of course the library has become a new topic in our discussions of where to go for the day.
This is one of my new favorite activities for Delaney to do. Not only does she LOVE drawing on things she's not suppose to draw on, but with a few rules set, she can't get into trouble with this!

I don't remember how much they were, but they were wekk worth the money.

We dyed Easter eggs the other day. She wasn't all that interested in the process...
You notice the frustration in her face, and the look of relaxation in Sam Nolan's face.
But she thought the finished product was pretty funny.
You know we had to put our new favorite food. Not only is it the best frozen pizza I've ever had, it is healthy and full of veggies. I didn't think Delaney would eat it, but she gobbled it down!
We have tried this brand before, and wasn't all that inspired to buy it anymore. But I gave it another try, and this will definitely be bought again...
Along with Delaney's birthday on April 15th, the next favorite thing we are looking forward to is Sam Nolan's christening on April 22nd. Can't wait!
This information is definitely a current event...Delaney is going #2 in the potty!! I think it is due to her being ready and also to our favorite prizes in the bathroom.
There you have it. Our favorite things of the week!

What's it like?

Sometimes I get asked, "What's it like with two small babies under 3 years of age?" Although each day is very different, here is as close to a typical day as you can get with a 7 week old and almost three year old:
1:45- To be technical our day sometimes begins as early as 1:45a.m. these days, and it's not due to Sam Nolan! Delaney has been waking up at about 1:45ish, either due to an accident (we're wearing panties all night and day now-except for #2) or she misses her daddy and needs him to sleep with her. So, he gets up, which sometimes wakes Sam Nolan and I up, which makes for bottle time. :) Then, we all go back to sleep.
4:00-Sam Nolan usually wakes up for a little bit more bottle and goes back to sleep.
5:00-We all wake up and our day starts. Eric has been really good about taking Sam Nolan and Delaney into the den and watching cartoons. This gives me a little bit more time to sleep without Sam Nolan in the bed with me. Yes, this is against the rules, but I know it won't last for long and...oh well.
6:00-I wake up, we all talk about the cartoons, breakfast, and Delaney cuddles with me while Sam Nolan cuddles with Eric
6:30-Eric starts getting ready. I dress Delaney (clothes, hair, etc.) while Sam Nolan sleeps or watches us.
7:00-Eric leaves for work. If it's Monday or Wednesday Delaney goes to school. If not, I get Sam Nolan dressed. Delaney plays or reads books until I get a bath. I makes bottles for the day, wash them, and pick up around the house.
7:45- I get ready with Sam Nolan and Delaney in the bathroom with me. :) Delaney gives me toys, jewelry, etc. in the bath tub. We usually have the conversation:
"Mommy, do you want a bracelet (or any other item she finds)?"
"No, not right now. Don't put it in the water."
"You need a bracelet."
"No, we don't put it in the bath tub. Wait a second and I'll put it on when I get out."
She gets too close to the tub and plays around with it.
Then, she accidently drops it in the tub.
"It was an accident. I get it."
"No, I'm getting out now."
8:30-Sam Nolan takes a little nap in his swing. Delaney and I play with dolls, read books, talk about what we want to do during the day. This is usually our long play time together. Sometimes, we go places to look around and shop or breakfast at Burger King (it has an indoor playground where you can also eat). Jack's is her favorite, but she says it's too "crowtin." (crowded)  This morning, we went to the park and to the library for storytelling. (The picture above is from today) She didn't care for the storytelling as much as I thought she would. There were too many kids trying to listen to a soft-spoken young lady. :)
10:00-Snack time. Sam Nolan wakes up and has a bottle. Delaney eats princess yogurt or something like that. I wash bottles, dishes, and clothes.
10:30- I have been giving Delaney crafts to do. We start doing them together and then she wants to do them "by herself." She absolutely loves painting with watercolors or fingerpaints. We are going to attempt Easter eggs tomorrow, so we will see how that goes.
11:30-Lunch. Everyone eats (Sam Nolan drinks his bottle). He is eating about 4 oz. at 7 weeks old.
12:00-Nap time. I am lucky that they both are usually good about sleeping at this time. Sam Nolan can sleep for 3-4 hours at this nap. Delaney is good to sleep 2. Her routine for nap time is to use the potty, I read 2 books to her, then she sleeps with them. I love that she loves books! When they're asleep, I try to blog or get on pinterest to find fun ideas to do with kids. I also do more laundry.
2:00-Delaney wakes up, we watch Max and Ruby or whatever cartoon is on Nick Jr. It is definitely worth the 5-6 dollars extra for that channel.  Sometimes, she helps me with chores like folding clothes or picking up her toys.
3:00-Sam Nolan wakes up, takes a bottle, and we all go into Delaney's room to play, read Tag books (those are the best books ever) and sing.
4:30-We call this "Mommy t.v. time". This is a designated 30 minutes that Delaney knows she can't watch what she wants. There's nothing in particular that I watch, but it's just a time that I can relax with them and not feel like I have to be up doing something.
5:00- I feed Sam Nolan, while Delaney feeds her "baby." If I'm cooking, she comes in the kitchen with me to help while Sam Nolan watches. I am glad her "kitchen" is in ours because she loves to pretend like she's making whatever I'm cooking, too.
5:30-Eric gets home. We all eat and play.
6:30-Bath time. Sam Nolan gets a bath every other night, but Delaney gets one every night.
7:30-Eric feeds Sam Nolan while Delaney watches Dora! Of course. I give goodnight kisses and go to bed!
8:00- Eric reads two books to Delaney. Delaney goes to bed. Sam Nolan and Eric relax. :)
8:30- Eric put Sam Nolan down for bed.
10:00-Sam Nolan eats again. Eric feeds him.
Sometimes Sam Nolan wakes up and gets restless before 1:45ish, but sometimes he sleeps really well! Everyday is definitely an adventure, that can sometimes be tiring. But it is so much fun being with these two children who have such amazingly wonderful personalities. They are so different right now, and I wonder if Sam Nolan will remain as laid back as he is today.

Delaney loves to go to the early service at our church because it's the contemporary service with TONS of music. We have only been to the traditional service since Sam Nolan was born because, frankly, it's just hard to get out the door before 8:00 with two young children. Getting everyone dressed and ready can be very difficult sometimes, but this morning we managed to do it with time to spare. What did we do in that spare time? Take pictures, of course!
She's telling him, "Say cheese, Sam Nolan! Say cheese!!"

Two peas in a pod. This is how they look most of the time...:) Sam Nolan looks real thrilled. Haha!

Fun with My New Phone!

I recently got a new phone! This one will let me upload pictures I take from my phone to my computer (blog!). I am very excited because this means I don't always have to take my big (expensive!) camera everywhere. The picture quality isn't even close to the other, but I am able to get some shots of the babies anywhere we go. :)
This is at Sam Nolan's one month dr. appt. "Mad Face" Roberts...
 Cutie Pie Roberts...
This was taken when Delaney got her big girl haircut...

Before she got her hair straightened...
Her new outfit (one of many) from Cottontails...
I'm also able to upload videos!! Warning: This video is just a trial, so it's very short and not that great. :)

Delaney's New Haircut!

Delaney got her very first "big girl" haircut. Before this, she had just had trims. It was a big change, but she loves it! The pictures I took on my phone during the haircut won't upload, so I had take some during play time...

The back is the biggest change, because this is now...
And this is what it did look like...
