This past week we had a 4 mos. birthday, JCA program, and 6 year anniversary to celebrate (along with Pop's bday). Oh, and Mother's Day was in there somwhere! Here are the pictures we took this week.
Sam Nolan has hit the four month mark and is growing everyday!
His motto: Go big or Go home.
His interests at four months include: eating applesauce and rice cereal, drooling from teething, and laughing at Delaney when she jumps around in front of him. He also loves shows that involve colorful puppets. He is sleeping from 8:00 until 2:00 and taking a bottle. He goes back to sleep until around 6:30.
Pretty boy. :)
On Thursday, we went to see Delaney's program at JCA.
It didn't take long for us spot our girl. Front and center on the back row with the big bow...
She had obviously taken a drink of water beforehand and was holding it in her mouth for the first part of her performance.
But then she got started, and shined like we know she does. :)
Willy Caterpillar.
She is reciting a bible verse in this picture. :)
Not only did we have fun at night this week, but Sam Nolan got his physical and mental exercise in during the day. Physical exercise began when he traveled the room in his chair.
Focus and concentration were also part of his meditation and mental exercise. :)
He has started to teeth and drool A LOT, and his friendly stuffed rattle helps him out when he needs it.
He says, "Thank you." *Side note* Check out those legs! I've never had skinny babies. :)
And possibly one of the best gifts I have ever received would be my Mother's Day gift this year. Tim Arnold, who is an AWESOME silhouette artist, created these. I have been wanting them for awhile now and I knew when I saw his work, I wanted them to be made my him. Here is the link to his website: http://silhouette-man.com/.

Start to an End

I have started work, but the year will end in a week! It is 5:00 am and I am up, ready for work, and the babies (including Eric) are still asleep so I thought I'd post. If I make more than a few grammatical errors, it's due to the lack of sleep. This week was the first time back at work for me since Sam Nolan was born. Needless to say, I was not happy. I unexpectedly went back on Monday, due to my sub having a family emergency (FYI-She was the best sub ever and my school babies were definitely taken care of, too). At home, I was thrilled to know that KK, Memaw, and my mom were able to jump in and help keep Sam Nolan on Monday and Tuesday. Nana is keeping him the rest of the week, so I know he is in good hands. :) I've missed being at home so much, and I don't like the new schedule we have around the Roberts' house. The schedule this week has been CRAZY tiring, and I am hoping it gets better by August when I really go back for the year. Eric and I have decided to swap each night waking up with Sam Nolan since I am working. I wake up at 4:30, get ready, Delaney usually gets up (or I wake her up), get her dressed, do her hair, fix her breakfast, get Sam Nolan dressed and ready, fix bottles, feed him a bottle, fix my own breakfast and then leave for the day. I get home about 4:30 with Delaney and play for awhile. Eric gets home, we have been going out to eat since we're both so tired, babies get baths, then I am usually in bed by 7:00. :) Exhausted. It's only been 4 days back, and I am already ready for summer break!!
Today is Sam Nolan's 4 month birthday, so I will be taking pictures and posting them soon. Here are a few I wanted to post, but haven't had the time...
Look at our "really TALL princess tower!" -Delaney
Mommy built a princess seat for Delaney. Do you see Sam Nolan's feet in the background? He enjoys watching us build things. :)
She had to try the seat out.
Painting a pretty picture. These are my new favorite thing because the paint is attached to the picture and it's easy for them to use. Thanks Misty and Connor!
Little buggy. He is always so happy after a good swaddle, bottle, and cuddle. Check out the escape hand!

Guess who loves popcorn? This is the bowl from a Friday night "movie night."
"I love you, brother." - Delaney in her best baby voice.
We can't wait for Sam Nolan to be able to sing with us. Delaney is getting him prepared...

Sam Nolan's Christening April 22, 2012

"May the Lord give his angels charge over you, to guide you in all your ways…"

Psalm 91:11
On April 22, 2012, Sam Nolan was christened. I took him to get his christening pictures made prior to the big day. He looked so handsome in his beautiful smocked outfit.
Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.
 Proverbs 22:6
This precious gift from heaven above was welcomed into Christ's family with love at our church, Leeds First United Methodist Church.
On this day we placed Sam Nolan in God's care forevermore.
Although Sam Nolan is only a baby, we know he has the promise of a future only God has planned.
Sam Nolan, the dream Daddy and I have for you is to feel His love and the love of those around you.
And may you always follow in His way.
I think this poem says it best...
Catch the moment and put it in your heart
and never let it go.
Save it for the years to come
when he, too, will know.

After the christening we celebrated with our family. The day was beautiful, the weather was perfect, and our babies were happy.
We are not only guiding our children in their journey with God, but they are a constant reminder to us of all things good from Him.
This picture is from Delaney's christening, July 19, 2009.
This was Delaney at the end of the day...
This was Sam Nolan.

Magnolia Festival

Eric and I took the babes to the Magnolia Festival! We enjoyed it so much, we want to go again next year, just a little later in the evening.  It was super hot, but we had a great time seeing the sights, riding rides, visiting with Jennifer, and eating junk food (aka-our most favorite thing, cotton candy! YUM!) **Due to the hot temps and busy time, Sam Nolan was sound asleep in his stroller for most of the time or inside with Mommy doing some shopping. So no pics of him.**The only thing she wanted to do was bounce. So of course we saw this trampoline bouncy thing when we first got there. She immediately wanted to try it.
I was thinking she would bounce extremely high, making me have a heart attack, but it was the opposite. For three minutes, we watched our baby girl (stiff legs and all) go about this high. Haha!
I think Delaney was more nervous than she thought she'd be. This was the only smile I could get out of her, but that tells us she LOVED it.  That's how she acts. Too fun for words. :)
She wasn't letting go...Very serious about it.
 Playing games...
Winning a prize she picked out. What a prize! :)
 There she goes!
She's got some moves on those bouncys!
Motorcycle Momma!

 Oh mercy!
 FUN!!
This day was one of those treasures. The fun-filled day you spend with your family, experiencing games and carnival rides through the eyes of your children.  When you really didn't know a balloon and a toy sheep could mean so much. And you ask, "Does it get any better than this?!" We can't even imagine what Disney World will be like with them! It makes Eric and I extremely proud and honored that God gave us these gifts, and to be a part of our babies' journey through life.  We were able to take the time to reflect on our blessings on the way home when Sam Nolan and Delaney fell asleep. Boy were they tired! Needless to say, we were all ready for baths shortly after we got home. Our Sam Nolan was all giggles before his bath, and I was thrilled to get some of it video.
I think this is mostly all that Delaney and I do during the day...(we drink the Capri Sun in the background, too).
How can we resist?? I mean, those cheeks are calling my name. :)
Since he is so laid back, he went with me to get my nails done, shopping, and to buy paint for our master bedroom. He didn't complain at all!  He has come to the nail salon with me before, and the manicurist is always so shocked at what a good baby he is.
We were so busy with our day date I didn't get a chance to blog our Friday favorites. This is his favorite spot this week. I only got to wear this carrier once with Delaney. He loves it! I am going to have to figure out how to make it not hurt my back with this big baby boy! But other than that, it's a winner.
We decided to pitch this ladybug tent this week. Can you guess where Delaney was the whole day? She read books, played Barbies, ate snacks, and even asked to take her nap in it. That didn't happen.
Other favorite spots include...Beanbag and bouncy (Can you tell they are both totally into Bubble Guppies??)
Bouncy party in the bathroom. He is in love with the yellow one. :)
This picture is very typical of the babies. Delaney has just woken up, put on her crown, and is now doing her "Bippity Boppity Boo" impersonation (we're into Cinderella and all things princess), while Sam Nolan is just taking it all in while making sure the wand stays at a safe distance...
Every Friday night, we have popcorn and movie night. We have done this for two months or so, and we have yet to move on to any other movies besides Tangled, Beauty and the Beast, and Cinderella. After they get their baths, Sam Nolan and Delaney are ready to watch their movies! This shows how into princess Belle we are. If you aren't familary with Beauty and the Beast, this is the scene of Belle in the fields right after Gaston asks her to marry him. Delaney is copying all of Belle's moves.
While Delaney is acting, Sam Nolan isn't letting any of it disturb him.
Delaney found the doctor's kit in the closet where we keep gifts. I decided to let her keep it, and it ended up being a good decision by mommy! She loves it! She goes around the house saying, "Let me give you a shot in your booty. It will make you feel better."
Our favorite book this week...
I had bought a deal on Groupon for a photo book, and I was running out of time to use it. I saw the idea to make an ABC book. She loves seeing herself as a baby, since every baby picture we see she thinks it's Sam Nolan.
Delaney caught her first fish! Alec is holding her catch as she gazes at the beauty...
