Life with my Loves

It has been so much fun being a stay at home mommy (really working from home) with my two loves. Between diaper changes, snacks (every hour), and trying to fit in some crafts, cooking, and little bit of work, it has been impossible for me to blog.  That's why I'm going to try harder to fit it in my schedule. Sam Nolan is now saying everything! He's growing into a little man. He loves to be told stories about "witch houses" (what he says). His eyes get really big when we say "and then GUESS what HAPPEND??!  He tells us his name is "Super Sam Pirate" and he loves to run around the house. Mostly with Delaney behind him. He can count to 10 and knows several colors. He loves to be tickled and play "Bucky"(horse-back on Eric). Delaney is really teaching him a lot (some not-so-good things), but he reads the words after Delaney during our learning time. He still eats ALL the time and loves everything his big sister does. Except broccoli. She loves it! Delaney is also doing gymnastics and softball. She loves both! She basically knows too much for her own good at times, but she makes me laugh daily with her "old soul" knowledge. She remembers EVERYTHING and it's scary how much she can recall about certain dates/times/etc. Eric and I can never make a promise we can't keep. It would be awful (for us). We love to watch "Pioneer Woman" and "Giada" and talk about the different words she uses to describe the food. She is definitely into all princesses and is super excited about her upcoming Hello Kitty/Easter egg hunting party with the family~ she chose the theme. I only have phone pictures right now, but I'll post camera pics later. :) Nothing is edited...don't have time for that stuff.

Showing off their new lunchboxes!
Me and Delaney before she goes into school.

Lordy. Do I need a caption for this??!
New cups!!
This is really what happens in the morning when we make it to church.
All dressed up.
Daddy's first year of coaching!!

We love going to the Cosby Lake park when it's pretty outside.
Yogurt Mountain picture to make Nannie jealous when she was out of town. :)

He literally ate it all.
COUSINS!
I love this picture. It reminds me of the "cousin pics" we were in when we were this age. Except no matching outfits! haha!

Daddy and Delaney on Opening Day at the field.
Whoo hoo!!

She has SO MUCH personality!

Is she really almost 5? I'm going to cry.

Sam Nolan is 2!

Sam Nolan's farm animal birthday was a success...low key=perfect. He loves the show "Chica" and since it was impossible to find it at Target, Party City, or anywhere, we went with farm animals. He loves them! He knows all the sounds and loves to make them. Here are some pics from the party:

He makes this face A LOT. He thinks it's hilarious. In the car, he will sway his head back and forth, close his eyes, and then make this face. Delaney laughs every time. Class clown.
 He loved all his gifts!

He hasn't taken this mask off that much since he got it.
A little game of Pin the tail on the Donkey. He says to put it on the "p-hiney" (behiney) thanks to Nannie for that one. :)
Things he is doing at 2: TALKING a LOT! Non stop. Always. Favorites include: "Mone" (come on), "I eat", "favit" (favorite), "Uh too" (love you, too). He is basically saying everything you say and he answers questions. We ask him frequently if he has pooped and the answer is mostly "uh huh" with a nod. :) His dance skills are the best in the family. He has super fast feet and little turns and flips. Amazing. He loves to go in his room with "Sissy" and "pay" (play). He is enjoying Mother's Day Out (as am I) and he gets in trouble most everyday for messing with Delaney at play time...she has to tell me, of course. We put him in time out and he knows what that means. :) This is what he looks like when I try to take a picture of him.

This is what he does when he's done.
To end this blog, I wanted to put a Delaney "funny"- We recently went to Yogurt Mountain and were having a great time as a family when a guy who looked like this walked up...
Delaney looks right at us and says, "He's going to a concert that ROCKS." Yes, Delaney. That's exactly what that looks like. So funny!

Christmas Day 2013

We knew this year would be SO much fun since they are both at an age where they know what's going on. The time is flying and we are holding on to every little memory that we possibly can at this age. I didn't send out Christmas cards this year, but I think the picture below sums up what this Christmas felt like to us this year. Blessed. Delaney loves to talk about where God is and how Jesus was born. What a gift He has given us.
This year at Christmas, Sam Nolan called Santa "ho ho" and Delaney had already told Santa exactly what she wanted...Lala "Lucy" hair (Lala Loopsy) and a flutter fairy. Both of which she had seen on TV a billion times. Throughout the month, we had put our little elf around the house, so they were amazed when I told them that he was staying on the tree for the week until Christmas.
Sweet kisses from my baby boy.
 And my bigger baby.
We made put out the cookies and milk for Santa at Memaw's and brought them home. Delaney always makes sure he has eaten them, so it's a must-do. Christmas Eve was wonderful! Sam Nolan and Delaney felt so loved and overjoyed with all the food, fun gifts, and most of all family. They got dolls, games, cooking supplies, cookbooks, blocks, dvds, clothes, etc! On the ride home, we talked about the true meaning of Christmas and how Jesus is always with us.
 Santa came!
This morning, I was the first one to wake up because I was so excited to see their excitement! Sam Nolan was not amused at his mother's wake-up call. Lazy bones. :)
Delaney woke up happy, although she is not feeling well. Santa pretty much brought her everything princess and doll that she could possibly want.
Can we say HAPPY??!! ((of course he is already eating)

Santa favorite (a VERY last minute elf purchase on Christmas Eve...whew!): the two-seater police car complete with a microphone, buttons, and siren. Delaney was a pushy driver. :)

Later on, we played and played, and organized ALL the new toys. Me=Type A. Then, we played with "elf yourself" on the phone. Sam Nolan got the BIGGEST kick out of it! He laughed and laughed!! Merry Christmas!!
