Prepping for the big night!
All the little girls were dressed up in their best princess wear. One little girl even wore a mini princess wedding dress!
Before the tea party began, they had the girls (one one boy)go up to the stage in front of the curtain, close their eyes and say, "Impossible things happen everyday" three times. When they pulled the curtain, there were tables set up with all things "Cinderella." ...and food. :) Cupcakes with glass slippers, cookies shaped like the glass slipper, carrots, fruit, crackers, cheese, and of course...chicken nuggets were part of the menu.
Every 5 minutes or so, another character would be introduced by all the princesses saying, "Impossible things happen everyday." They met the fairy godmother and the prince first. The fairy godmother was
And Cinderella had to answer some of Delaney's questions, too. When first seeing her she asked, "Are you Cinderella? Where are your ugly step-sisters?" My child.
Then they checked out her glass slippers to make sure she was legit. :)
It doesn't look like she's happy, but she really is. Haha!
Everyone!
I am so glad we did this! Seeing Cinderella and meeting the characters was super special to Delaney, and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing her so excited. (I may have been more excited than her). The whole day she counted down until it was time to go. She'd say, "We're going to see Cinderella!" and then we'd both say in our giddy girly voice, "EEEEK!" Not only did she get to have an upclose experience with Cinderella, but she definitely made a sweet memory with her awesome friend, Sarah. Wouldn't have changed a thing. :)
