On January 17th, 2013, it was Sam Nolan's first birthday and the first snow he'd ever seen! What a fun way to celebrate his birthday! I had taken off a day from work, and all the schools got out early! We got his first haircut, Delaney went to the dentist, and we were able to cuddle all day at home. When Daddy got home from work, they went outside for a snowball fight. Sam Nolan and I stayed inside in the warmth and watched from the window. :)
On Saturday, we had the best time celebrating his first birthday with family! The theme: Cookies and Milk with Cookie Monster. Complete with a cookie cake.Cookie Monster cookies.
Cookie Monster pacifier.
Socks.
Shirts. (all of us!)
What party would be complete without balloon fights with sister??!
It was such fun to be creative with cookie monster.
These were my pinterest insiration pictures. :)
Delaney's artwork for the party. Notice the second picture says, "SAM." (In three-year old handwriting)
We even found cookies and a book that went along with the theme.
Our cousin, James, was sick and couldn't make it, but we wanted to thank him for being our awesome cousin. :)
This was his gift from me and Eric. His first car!
I bought Eric this shirt to wear for the day. Needless to say, I haven't seen it since. :) haha!
I just loved how this turned out. It displays a picture of Sam Nolan each month of his first year. Sam Nolan's firs bite of the iced cookies. YUM! But I am still finding blue icing in random places. :)
His milk bottle for the day.
PRESENTS! He received so many wonderful gifts from the family! Thank you!
He especially loved the cards. He got the biggest kick out of KK and Pete's card. I didn't catch his reaction on camera, but it was super cute!
Precious boy.
Time for cake smashing!
But he took the cookie instead.
Our little "cookie monster."
Attempt to get a family picture...Never works out.
He's saying, "Best birthday ever, Mommy!"
Wow, this birthday bash for this kid was epic. The arrangements in blue and white color scheme are looking really fun. Being a mom to the twin boys, now I too would have to start hosting the themed parties. Their first birthday is coming and we are planning to host the Disney inspired bash at a nearby garden event space Chicago.
