Your 1st Day of Kindergarten

Delaney,
I knew this day was coming soon, so I thought I was prepared. As a teacher, I'd seen it so many times before. As we sat in the car waiting for little boy from safety patrol to let you out,  I realized that you were just as nervous, excited and scared as I was. You wouldn't even eat your Hardee's biscuit. As I drove away, I looked in my rearview mirror and saw you looking unsure and confused about where to go. It broke my heart. These five years have flown by and, in my eyes, you're still my little baby. I wanted to go back so badly to take your hand and show you, but I'm sure you found your way...you always do. :) Even though this morning was a little tough (mostly for me), I want you to know that you are at the beginning of an amazing journey. I know you will have a wonderful year and will learn so much. What an amazingly smart and confident little girl you are! I am so proud of you. There may be times where you are scared, nervous, and excited (and maybe me, too) but I will always be right here.

Ready for her debut in Kindergarten!
 Loving her new backpack!

We packed 2 snacks for today!!
 Daddy's girl
We memorized our lunch number, but we had to wear this the first day of school...just in case. :)
Galloping like her horse nap mat.
1st day of school. We got this...me and you.
And here's a little throwback of Delaney going into her first day of  K2 "school" when she was 16 months old. *Sigh.
