Clean (Only Sometimes)

Both of the Roberts' babies love the water.

If not bathing in it, atleast painting in it.
 And splashing in it.
 This is his happy place.
The other day, Delaney also had her teeth cleaned. She loves the dentist...or alteast the pirate ship and toys in the waiting room.
How could you not have a good time when wearing sunglasses and watching a movie playing on the ceiling??!!
Before they are clean, they both love to go on adventures with their buddies. Especially if it involves Dora and Diego at McWane!
My attempts at getting any clear action shots from the day were unsuccessful. Have I mentioned how hard it is to take pictures and keep up with a three year old, while feeding and taking care of a 6 month old? Extremely.
 Searching for pirates and gold.
Reading the rules of pirates.
Flexing our muscles with friends.
And sleeping it all off.
And then we're clean again. :)

A Few Words

Some recent quotes and cute things from Delaney I want to remember:- "We don't say 'no' to our friends."
- When we trying to tell her to be quiet or to do anything more than once, she says in a regular tone, "You say that every day, all the time,"
- When getting ready to go somewhere my mother says, "let's rock and roll." So now, Delaney is saying "let's rock and roll, guys" everytime we're getting ready to leave to go somewhere.
- Delaney's nook has been taken away from Daddy. Not because she isn't treating it right. But because she not only knows how to work the nook extremely well, but will purchase multiple apps on it without notifying her parents first. :)
- She always has to give me a "fresh breath kiss" every morning after she brushes her teeth and before she leaves for JCA.
The reason I was reminded to put this all down on the blog (and will try to do it more often) was inspired by the quote she gave me this morning. When I asked her what she and I do everyday during the summer she told me, "Mom, you know we eat, play, and cuddle." That's my girl.

Some cute things Sam Nolan's doing at 6 months:
- He makes a sucking/popping noise with his lips. It resembles Elvis, but it makes some sort of popping noise. Eric and I tried to copy him, but it's kinda hard.
- When he first wake up in the morning and I let him out of his swaddle, his arms immediately go up and Eric says, "TOUCHDOWN!"
- He loves Mickey Mouse. Our morning routine always involves Delaney and Sam Nolan in our bed watching Mickey Mouse. :)
At his 6 month appointment, he weighed 18 pounds and measured 28 inches long. When getting his vaccinations (two in his legs) he cried for only about 5 seconds, then stopped crying! When I put him in his carseat to leave the room, he went to sleep. Sweet boy.

Book Buddies?

They started out with such a sweet little time of reading...
Little babies posing between a page...
And Delaney being a good "teacher" and showing Sam Nolan the picture...
She also read each page to him.
But then he got interested in a page...
 And went for it.
Delaney removed him from his goal...
 And chaos ensued...
 Sweet moment=ended.

"Impossible Things Happen Everyday"

On Saturday, these two princesses went to see "Cinderella" at the Leeds Theatre.
 Prepping for the big night!
All the little girls were dressed up in their best princess wear. One little girl even wore a mini princess wedding dress!
Before the tea party began, they had the girls (one one boy)go up to the stage in front of the curtain, close their eyes and say, "Impossible things happen everyday" three times. When they pulled the curtain, there were tables set up with all things "Cinderella." It was precious!!*The videos I took of the night won't upload, but I did get them in action.* Sarah and Delaney were thrilled to see all the "princess" decorations, wands, bookmarks, and goodies everywhere...
...and food. :) Cupcakes with glass slippers, cookies shaped like the glass slipper, carrots, fruit, crackers, cheese, and of course...chicken nuggets were part of the menu.
Every 5 minutes or so, another character would be introduced by all the princesses saying, "Impossible things happen everyday." They met the fairy godmother and the prince first. The fairy godmother was grilled greeted with 21 questions from Delaney!
And Cinderella had to answer some of Delaney's questions, too. When first seeing her she asked, "Are you Cinderella? Where are your ugly step-sisters?" My child.
Then they checked out her glass slippers to make sure she was legit. :)
Delaney and her "Cinderella" friends...
It doesn't look like she's happy, but she really is. Haha!
Everyone!
I am so glad we did this! Seeing Cinderella and meeting the characters was super special to Delaney, and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing her so excited. (I may have been more excited than her). The whole day she counted down until it was time to go. She'd say, "We're going to see Cinderella!" and then we'd both say in our giddy girly voice, "EEEEK!" Not only did she get to have an upclose experience with Cinderella, but she definitely made a sweet memory with her awesome friend, Sarah. Wouldn't have changed a thing. :)

Happy Six Months to Sam Nolan!

This little cutie pie turns six months old today!
At six months old, he has one tooth on the bottom right. He loves to eat baby food for breakfast and lunch, but prefers bottles most of the time. He like to make a short high pitched sound to get our attention and he enjoys grabbing at his sister's hair.
He has been known to be a flirt with the ladies, so I'm not sure what this means for our future.
Delaney adores her brother, but doesn't appreciate the hair pulling nor the high pitched sounds.
She does love getting her toys out to "share" with him.
Everything he touches is now going straight to his mouth, so we have to be careful of what's around him.
This is the typical situation. Taking pictures of Sam Nolan, Eric trying to play with both of them, and Delaney telling him that she "needs" him to watch her do something. Or maybe that she wants the animal that Sam Nolan has back. :)
By six months, he has also taken his first ride on the lawn mower. Practice makes perfect. Eric and Sam Nolan worked hard to make the yard look wonderful for the shower last weekend.
For now, Sam Nolan would rather stay with his mommy inside than ride on a lawn mower.

Celebrating Baby James!

We recently celebrated the upcoming arrival of baby...
Before everyone arrived, Sam Nolan and I took the opportunity for a little mother/son photo.
Delaney decided to grace us with her presence join us. This was about the 10th try for a good picture. We failed miserably. :)
The decor turned out beautifully. The awesomeness that is my KK, Memaw, and Mom helped turn my home into a celebration on the new "birdie in their nest" shower for Terri Lynn.
 Complete with feathered favors.
And all of the lil' chicks from the guests were there, too. :)
Some of the guests...Of course my camera would go dead shortly after this!
Terri Lynn opening her great gifts!!

We are super excited to meet our newest cousin! Sam Nolan can't wait until September when he arrives!!
